MATTHEW H MORRIS | President

Morr Companies was founded in August 2019 by Matthew H Morris.

Morris is an entrepreneur at heart, starting his first job at the age of twelve and his first company, Point Lobster Catering, by sixteen years old.

He became a leader in the NYC Hospitality scene after graduating with recognition from the Hospitality Management program at The Pennsylvania State University. He began working for Danny Meyer at Union Square Hospitality Group where he managed the operations in the Museum of Modern Art, including three fast casual cafes, events and catering and (most well known) The Modern; USHGs 2 Michelin Star fine dinning restaurant.

Morris went on to lead the opening team of WS New York, an ultra private and luxury member’s only club, and the Tavern by WS, a fine dining contemporary American restaurant, in NYC’s Hudson Yards for its founders who include Stephen Ross and Ken Himmel of Related Companies and Marvin Shanken of Wine Spectator Magazine.

ROBERT FINNERTY | VICE PRESIDENT, STRATEGY & DEVELOPMENT

Finnerty joined Morr Companies in December of 2019, although Morris and Finnerty have worked together on start-ups and business development for over a decade.

Finnerty started working as a Retail Specialist at Point Lobster Company and rapidly grew through the ranks as the company expanded. He was instrumental in the creation and execution of Point Lobster Catering along side Morris, catering festivals and private events.

After graduating with honors from the Montclair State University, Finnerty grew into a sales role on the well known team at TerraCRG where he drives a focus in commercial real estate deals in Brooklyn, New York. He holds a well known reputation for being a sales driver of large industrial complexes and facilities, sourcing properties for new projects as well as property valuation and negotiations.

Finnerty manages Morr Companies division in business development for site selection, negotiations, lease agreements as well as over all concept evolution, expansion and refinement.
